Wreath Challenge

This week we have been working on our Chrismas countdown. I have been working on a wreath the hard part was getting the shape of it and the easy part was making all the stars because I made one then copy them put them somewhere different.

Christmas Wrapping Paper Challenge

For the last few weeks of school, we are working on a Christmas cont down. The task that I did was Christmas wrapping paper I did a Kiwiana theme The hard part was trying to draw them and the easy thing was moving them around. 

ORIENTEERING, FIRE, FOOD

ORIENTEERING                     

For orienteering, we had to use a map and do like a scavenger hunt and find eight letters to spell out a word.
The hard part was at the end and trying to figure out a riddle and the word was burritos and the easy part was kind of reading the map because we have all ready learned how to use the map. 

                                   FIRE

For fire, we learned how to use flint and steel and how to make a fire. The hard part was trying to get a spark with the flint and I learned that you should put the small sticks and make a te pe shape then put the big sticks on top.


FOOD

For food, we had to get our potato and cut the top off then cut in the potato-like knots and crosses then put the ham and cheese in. The hard part for me was cutting off the top and the easy part was warping the potato in the tin foil. Then we made a banana dessert we had to put the marshmallow and the chocolate inside of the banana then wrap it up in a tin foil.

BackPack

This is my survival I put a water bottle, torch, first aid kit, and flint and steel. I put a first aid kit just in case you get hurt and other things. Then I put flint and steel so I can start a fire. Then I put a jacket just in case it rains, and water because I would get thirsty and if I drink it all I can fill it up at a flowing river.

FABULOUS FINISH

For the last two weeks, we have been working on our fabulous finish. I did more about me on Ghost the hard part was drawing the shoes and thinking of what to write. It took me six days to finish it, and in some of the boxes I did a little picture about what it said and I think I made it an overflowing jar of honey. 

Bush Survival

 It's important to know what to do when you are lost in the bush.

 Shelter

. Build away from creeks and rivers.

. Build on a dry, flat surface.

. Your shelter needs to protect you from the rain and wind.

Fire

. Make your fire where the wind won't directly blow on the fire.

.You will need tinder, kindling, and logs, the tinder is tiny and fluffy, and will spark the fire into life old dry grass makes great tinder. Kindling is pencil-sized pieces of wood that will build some real flames. Leaves and pine straw can also help the kindling along but you would have to heaps to keep it going.

Water

To find Also you need to be aware of animal tracks. You can often follow tracks right to a water source. Animals need water just as much as you do to survive, and they will know of any available water source. You should drink from the water that is flowing.

Basic first aid.

You will need a flew bandages, scissors, cotton, and maybe rope and some gloves and that's a basic first aid.

when you are signaling for help a good way is lighting a fire because the smoke will go up into the sky and people will see the smoke.

Shelter building

I and my troop worked together to make a shelter we went around the posts with the rope.

Then we tried to do each other ideas but they didn't work but then the teacher came and told us all to make it stable and won't let the rain and wind get in she suggested to but it low to the ground the find some things to put and the tarp to keep on the ground. The hard part was tying the rope around the two posts and the easy part was finding rocks and putting the tarp over top. We all worked as a team and to make our shelter but at the start, we all wanted to do a heap of our own ideas but it didn't work so we talked to each other and made it work.

I think our team was successful I would give it a 5/5 because we got it done and we worked as a team.

Research

 This week I did research.
I research about Jason Reynolds, the hard part was finding heaps of info about him and it was hard finding out what to research about him.

Tent Review

What was the hardest thing? Getting the poles out from the tent.

What worked well? Putting the poles through the tent because the pole would come apart.

What did you learn? To go slowly and read the instructions.

Tent Plan

The tent we are aiming to make is a tarp and rope tent. To make this we are going to need two trees so that we can tie the rope to. Then we put a tarp over the top of the rope.

To make the next tarp and rope tent we are going to tie a rope around two trees so it makes a rope line then we are going to put a rope through the holes and tie that to the trees so it makes a triangle that we can fit under. We chose these tents because we thought that they were easy to make and that they had a nice shelter.

Creation Station

This is my Chapter Chat that I did this week. I  did creation Station. The hard part was drawing and coloring because it took a long time to draw motivation mobile. tationCreation Station

Shelter Building

A good place to build a shelter would be near a windbreaker or by a water source.

Before building a shelter you will need a well-contracted area that will protect you from the rain, wind, sun, and cold.

Before deciding what shelter you want to look around for such as a fallen tree, uprooted tree, two trees that have a stick in the middle of the trees then you could find some branches with some leaves to put over the stick in the middle of the two trees.


Pros: Quick to build, does not need a lot of materials, can be waterproof if it's built correctly.  
Cons: Not always waterproof, there could be too many insects and spiders, heaps mosquitoes.  

Native trees

Zealand Christmas tree, Zealand Christmas tree is a coastal evergreen tree in the myrtle family. You would find a Pohutukawa throughout the North Island particularly north of New Plymouth and Gisborne. Pohutukawa grows best in warm drier areas close to the sea. Pohutukawa is well as a cultural symbol, the species has several practical uses. Its hard strong timber was used for ship-building, and parts of the tree were also used medicinally by the Maori.

Away With Words

This week I did away with word I did a poem. The hard part was coloring it in but the easy part was writing the poem because I had it all writing in my book.

Figure 8 knot

The figure-eight followthrough is one of the strongest knots. It forms a secure, non-slip loop at the end of a rope. Also known as the Flemish Bend, this is the most widely used tie-in knot by mountain climbers.

It was kind of hard but in the end, I did it.

Alpine knot

When a line of hikers wishes to hook on along the length of a shared rope or as a possible option for the first part of a Trucker's Hitch and you can use it for rock climbing because the loop hooks onto the rock. 

CCT4W1 Digital Design

This is my digital design I did for this week the hard part was making the shoe and the track and the esay part was the flag because you can go onto shapes and get the flag shape.

My Holiday

My dad, brother and I went to golf and we played 9 holes we took a golf cart. Then we practice on the practice green and after that, we played so on the first hole Is did'int do too well it took me about six shots in till I made it onto the green. Then on the second hole, I did it in four shots then I made it onto the green but my brother didn't hit the ball and hit it where I was, but I didn't want to play the last three holes because it was raining and I didn't feel like playing. The flowing day Nathan and I help Pa and Ma around the house doing jobs like pulling out weeds and other jobs and the rest of the days we stayed at home. { That's what we did on the first week.}

My brother, cousins and I went to the skate park in Thames and the playground and this was the first time my cousin's had been to this skate park. Then we had dinner over at Thames by the train station and the tennis courts. The next day we went to the skate park and stayed there for an hour. Then we went on a walk along a track beside the beach then I and my cousin rode back on our scooters to the skate park. When we got back we went on our scooters and we on a different track that led us where heaps of boats were then we went along the road to go back to the skate park and the rest of the days we stayed at home. { That's what we did for the last days of the holidays}

Blog Block Challenge!!!

This is the book cover that I made. I did the book meltdown from the diary of a wimpy kid. The hard part was getting the shapes right because it was hard getting the eyes the same and the body of the snowman.

Fabulous Finsh

This is my fabulous finish that I did this week I made a board game and Cailn and Hunter have played it. I had one week of doing my fabulous finish but I got it done.

Week 7 Chapter Chat

Hunter and I did Chapter Chat together this week. We made a fish fossil. We found a rock then painted a fish on it. It was kind of hard painting on it because the surface was rough.

I want to be an all black for my dream job

As a professional rugby player, your life would revolve around the pitch and at the gym. You would practice up to five days a week and play during evenings and weekends. Professional rugby players speed a lot of their time travelling outdoor and indoor or out on the field regardless if the weather is good or not.  Rugby players play in a lot of events like the word cup.
